Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundation Review

3:00 AM

Being a foundation junkie, I was bound to try the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundation. The foundation claims to have 24 hour wear, and claims to be retouch-free and also transfer-free. Sign me up! I also want to preface this by saying I have combination skin, and I always find that I get oily on the sides of my nose and my chin the most.

You can purchase the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundation here.

Application

I have found that my favorite way to apply this foundation is with a brush. I apply mine with the Morphe M439 brush, which you can find here. I tried applying it with a beauty sponge but I personally think this foundation applies better with a brush on my skin. The shade I wear is 360 Bisque N.

Wear

The Teint Idole Ultra Foundation claims to have a 24 hour wear. I couldn't put this to the full test because I don't think I have every kept a foundation on for that long. I do find that after about 6-7 hours of wear, I am oily around my nose and chin, but this foundation doesn't break up anywhere on my face! With some foundations, I notice about couple hours after putting it on, it breaks up on the sides of my face under my cheekbones. This foundation has yet to do that for me. I don't mind doing a touch up of powder on the t-zone if it means the foundation will not break up.

The Pros

After trying this foundation for about a month now, I found that it has several pro's. It applies very smooth, and it has a very light texture. It also has a pump (which I personally think every foundation should have). The foundation is also build-able. I would say one even layer is a medium coverage, and it covers most of my scarring but not all of my redness. After two layers I have an even skin tone and no redness. There are also a wide range of shades to choose from (30 to be exact).

The Cons

My biggest disappointment with this product is the price. It costs $47.00. However, I do find that foundations with pumps tend to last longer than foundations without, so you are not wasting product like you would if it didn't have a pump. I also did not stay matte all day long. As for being transfer free, I can't say if it transferred or not, due to the fact that I put bronzer and other powder over top of it (which are not transfer-free).

Final Thoughts

Even though it is fairly expensive, I would say the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Foundation is definitely a good investment. With my skin type it is very hard to find a foundation that won't break up halfway throughout the day, so this is a product I would definitely repurchase! Has anyone tried this foundation before? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

I also made a video on my thoughts on this foundation and how I apply it!
